An Unattractive Afterlife?
The views prevalent in Western society of the afterlife might be summarised as either living on a cloud playing a harp forever or being tortured in flames for eternity. Understandably, neither is appealing.
This project aims to describe a possible future for everyone that would ensure that no one is bored or suffers endless punishment.
This future view is depicted in some detail in the fictional story set out in our book Hope for Everyone, the following is a brief summary.
At some point after death, each and every person who has ever lived will be resurrected into a new body.
Depending on the experiences that have shaped their life while on this earth, they will be placed in communities designed to help them mature. There they will be free to carry on their life in whatever way they choose, but the consequences of their actions will become clear to them. Throughout this period they will have the opportunity to experience love and engage with those who demonstrate love.
Eventually, and it may take a very long time, each person will come to a realisation that loving the creator and attempting to love others in the same way that he does is the only way that a large number of people can co-exist in a stable society.
The society that each person enters once they accept to live in such a way will be neither boring nor unpleasant.
